And the Winners are ….
It got down to a Husker vs. Husker contest in the Final Four with the two Nebraska teams taking first and second place.
But in the end at the elevator it was Gene Wollenburg and Larry Edgar who will be watching the Super Bowl on a 48-inch plasma television!
Congrats to everyone for playing JackPlot!™

And here is a video of the winners:

The Final Four teams have been selected and the last games are underway here at the JackPlot!™ Vegas National Competition.
Wade Kallevig and Dale Scheffler are the JackPlot!™ Vegas contestants from Minnesota. Wade is the farmer from Wilmar and both are hoping for a big win here in Vegas! Listen to an interview with them here:
And last, but certainly not least – Team 16 is Doug Lesher and Justin Freeland from South Dakota. Doug is a fifth generation farmer from Pierpont who has been studying the game and hopes to be a winner! Listen to an interview with Team 16 here:
Louis Kieler and Steve Bailie make up Team 13 from Wisconsin – one of the Cheesehead teams. Louis is a family farmer who has dairy and beef cattle and grows corn and beans.
A father and son team from New Hampton, Iowa are team 14 – Nick and Daniel Feenstra. Nick is the dad with his son Dan the agronomist – maybe Dan the Answer Man? Might give them an edge!
The Kansas team is Mike Casper and Jacob Homewood. Mike has been farming in Chanute for over 30 years and hopes to use some of that expertise to win a big screen TV. Listen to an interview with them here.
Darrell Bassen and Kelly Kingzett from North Dakota are our Team 12. Darrell grows corn, soybeans, wheat and sometimes barley.
Louisiana is represented here at the JackPlot!™ Vegas Competition by Jon Carter and Scott McKay. Jon is from Collinston and is “almost” a daddy. Listen to an interview with them here.
Gene Wollenburg and Larry Edgar are from Nebraska – another of the rowdy Husker teams! Gene is a third generation farmer from Dewitt. Best of luck.
One of our two teams from Iowa is Gene Riles and Rick Demaray. Gene is from Sheffield, Iowa and both are currently in the second game of round one at table 1. Listen to an interview here:
Team Eight is from Ohio. They are Mike Gorman and Jeff Howard. Mike is a grower from Trenton, Ohio.
Dan Martensen and his trusty agronomist Clete Kamrath from Nebraska are Team Five in the JackPlot!™ Vegas Competition – one of our two Husker teams. A ten year farming veteran, Dan likes romantic comedies and football – hope that helps in the competition! Listen to an interview with them here:
Team Six consists of David Ring and Calvin Sietz of Indiana. Our Hoosier team is hoping to head back home winners after the competition – wondering how they will load that big screen TV on the plane!
We’ll call Tim Dufault and Todd Summerfeld of Minnesota our team number 3. We would like to come up with names for these teams, but for now they are just numbers. This team is one of two from Minnesota. Listen to an interview with them here:
Team Four is Todd Versback and Dennis Storandt of Wisconsin – one of two teams from Wisconsin. Todd is a grower from Viroqua and he has been farming for a quarter century.
We’ll take Tommy Gordon and Brian Morris of Alabama first – sounds good, since it starts with an “A.” Tommy is the grower on the team and he is from Athens and Brian is his agronomist. They are now competing in the second game of round one on Table 1. Listen to an interview with them here:
Team Two consists of Herb Litwiller and Darren Roelfs of Illinois. Herb is a farmer from Heyworth and Darren is his agronomist from Hudson. Herb has been farming for 45 years – so we’ll see how he does in the game!
